Strengthening Ethical Standards for Higher Trust in the Media
The initiative “Strengthening Ethical Standards for Higher Trust in the Media,” implemented by the Association of Journalists of Macedonia (AJM) and the Macedonian Institute for Media (MIM), is dedicated to strengthening the independence and ethical capacities of journalism in the country. The project runs from January 1 to October 31, 2026, with financial support from the Government of Switzerland through the Civica Mobilitas program.
The activities are aimed at building integrity and resilience among media professionals by strengthening ethical standards and self-regulation. A key activity is the development of a new, modern Code of Ethics for Journalists. The drafting of the Code entails an inclusive and comprehensive process involving all relevant stakeholders in the media sphere, ensuring it is widely accepted and applicable in day-to-day journalistic practice.
