MIM’s primary role is to provide journalists, media professionals, civil society organisations, institutions and all other interested parties, adequate support and access to up-to-date knowledge on journalism and the media in general.
The professional trainings are MIM‘s trademark through which it implements the concept of lifelong learning in media education. The educational programs closely follow the latest global standards in journalism and public communication and are being implemented through practical learning.
In its efforts aimed at improving the professional standards, MIM increasingly focuses on the development of research activities. An in-depth scanning of the situation in the media serves to support the activities of the Institute. Through research MIM aims to provide basis for further initiatives in supporting the professionalization of the journalists and the media, development of journalism education, as well of the civil society and the democratic values.
Production and co-production projects are part of the professional portfolio of MIM. The production projects mainly focus on topics rarely covered by the mainstream media, which are important for the development of civil society and democratic values in Macedonia. These media products are based on professional principles and standards, aiming to become a leading example, both from a thematic and journalistic point of view.
MIM makes use of an up-to-date equipment, expertise and technical capacities for implementation of its project activities.
